Manitobans know that they can’t trust Greg Selinger’s NDP government.
Why? Because they promised not to raise the PST in the last election, then they broke that promise by raising it from 7% to 8%. And they took away the right of Manitobans to vote on that tax increase; another broken promise.
Because they have repeatedly broken their promises to balance the books. They have doubled the debt of our province in just eight years and overseen the first downgrade in Manitoba’s credit rating in three decades. This means more money for bankers in Toronto and less for services here in Winnipeg.
Your new Progressive Conservative government will restore Manitobans’ trust and return integrity to their government by bringing in Manitoba’s first Open Government bill which will establish new, higher standards for transparency, accountability and MLA ethics, with open contracting procedures, and give real authority to independent Legislative officers to investigate and report.

Our PC government has submitted its response to the federal government on its proposed backstop and benchmarks for carbon pricing, Premier Brian Pallister announced today.
The response highlights the significant investments Manitobans have made in renewable energy and also notifies of the province’s decision to seek a legal opinion on its right to develop its own ‘made-in-Manitoba’ plan.
